I am going to break Hong Kong into several blog postings. Large postings have proven problematic given the Internet bandwidth available on the ship being shared by many users. Since Hong Kong is a group of islands, this posting will be about being on the water.
We rode in a motorized sampan...

...past a huge floating restaurant appropriately named JUMBO...

...and people living aboard boats in a small harbor surrounded by high-rise apartment buildings.

We also rode the Star Ferry which provides a quick, inexpensive way to get from Hong Kong to Kowloon and elsewhere.

The car tunnels are much more expensive, costing as much as $10(USD) one way. While the ferry is a great way to get out into Victoria Harbor, for the locals it is just transportation.

And here is a picture of our home away from home.

Docked at the Harbor City cruise terminal in Kowloon, we had a great view of Hong Kong cityscape and a second night of the light show.

The white objects inside the clear plastic spheres are one set of the lasers used in the light show.

One of our tour guides told us the some tourists onshore were annoyed that our ship had arrived during the light show the previous evening. The ship was such large light source itself that it apparently diluted to visibility of the light show.
