In the morning we traveled from Luang Prabang to Vientiane. When we landed the temperature was upward of 95 with high humidity. This was the very hot weather Guild had warned us to expect in southeast Asia but until today we had mostly missed with temperatures topping out in mid-80's to the low 90's.
We dropped our things at Guild's home...

...then took a tour of the center of the city.
That Luang is the large chedi that appears on the Lao national emblem. It is often closed to the public, but we found it open, likely because of the new year's holiday.

We then visited the wat next to the chedi.

The white banners in the pile of sand in front of the Buddha are wishes made by supplicants.

The inside of the wat had an amazing ceiling recounting the story of the Buddha.
